DECIZIA (UE) 2024/1861 A CONSILIULUI EUROPEAN

din 28 iunie 2024

de alegere a președintelui Consiliului European

CONSILIUL EUROPEAN,

având în vedere Tratatul privind Uniunea Europeană, în special articolul 15 alineatul (5),

întrucât:

(1)	La 30 noiembrie 2024 mandatul actualului președinte al Consiliului European, domnul Charles MICHEL, se va încheia.

(2)	Prin urmare, ar trebui ales un nou președinte al Consiliului European,

ADOPTĂ PREZENTA DECIZIE:

Articolul 1

Prin prezenta decizie, domnul António COSTA este ales în calitatea de președinte al Consiliului European pentru perioada 1 decembrie 2024-31 mai 2027.

Articolul 2

Prezenta decizie intră în vigoare la data publicării în Jurnalul Oficial al Uniunii Europene.

Adoptată la Bruxelles, 28 iunie 2024.
